Throughout the year FCS brings together students, families, and staff for celebrations, competitions, and community traditions. Exact dates each school year are announced on our Facebook page and in class.
Annual events
Chinese New Year Celebration (新春聯歡會)
Our biggest celebration of the year — students perform lion dances, musical numbers, skits, and cultural presentations for the whole community.
Food Festival (小吃義賣)
Families gather to enjoy homemade Chinese dishes, snacks, and desserts. A beloved tradition that raises funds for the school and brings the community together.
Academic Contest (學術比賽)
Students compete in Chinese reading, writing, and oral categories. Award winners are recognized at the Chinese New Year celebration.

ANCCS Competitions (北加州中文學校聯合會競賽)
FCS students participate in the Association of Northern California Chinese Schools competitions, including Analects interpretation, parent-child storytelling, and multimedia categories.
Chinese Yo-Yo (扯鈴) Showcase
Students from the Chinese yo-yo elective demonstrate their skills throughout the year at school events and community performances.
Confucius Memorial Ceremony (祭孔典禮)
A traditional ceremony commemorating Confucius's contributions to education and culture, observed at the start of the school year.
Teacher & Staff Appreciation Dinner (教職員感謝晚宴)
An annual dinner to recognize and celebrate the dedication of FCS teachers, staff, and volunteers.
Graduation Ceremony (畢業典禮)
Students completing the program are celebrated with a formal graduation ceremony at the end of the school year.
